As stated previously, I have read 37 of the 100 books on The List.
Only 63 to go!
Come along with me on my journey to read the rest of the novels and find out if librarians really do know best...
I will update as I finish each novel (maybe multiple posts for the long books...like David Copperfield.) Read the books with me! Comment! Tell me about what you're reading!

I wanted to write a little something about Hunger Games. Why not, this place needs some action, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI definitely was more into them than the Uglies trilogy, though I liked those very much as well.
These were more captivating though, the first and second were totally captivating, and I retract what I said about it being predictable. By the time I was on the Mockingjay I had no clue which way things were going to go and especially end up.
The third one was my least favourite though. It was really crazy and all over the place and I have to say... I was kind of let down in the end. I mean, I don't know how else to have ended it I guess... but did it have to be so utterly depressing. After almost 1200 pages it was just like... ugh... really? Kill me now.
But despite the slight disappointment I would still highly recommend them to others and am very happy that you and Jamie share your good finds like that to me.
And I also noticed a very distinct pattern that kept me reading way WAY past my bedtime on some nights. The way that she ends essentially every chapter with a total shock-factor cliff hanger. By the third book I would be on the last page of a chapter and about 3 sentences to go I would mentally be revving myself up for the big news, the twist. And on the last three words I'd say out loud "Aaaannndddd, there it is".
And then I'd read the next chapter and the next chapter until I could get to a chapter that I could handle waiting until the next day to find out. I think this could totally be movie-material though. I could see it, definitely. Like a Harry Potter kind of trilogy thing.
